Superior Donuts

So have you ever wondered where the money from the National Endowment for the Arts really goes? Oh I bet you are thinking all that money goes to some risque artist in NY that want to make life size rendition of the Virgin Mary out of rotten beef. Well sorry you are wrong once again, it goes to small theater companies in your own community. Like this one...

Ryan and I payed the Horizon Theatre in Little 5 Points a visit last night to see their current production Superior Donuts. It was amazingly funny the whole audience was roaring. The two main actors were great and they really pulled you into the story.  I really recommend taking it before the show close on March 27th. Here is a synopsis of the play...
The neighborhood, the donut shop, and Arthur have all gone to pot. When young Franco Wicks busts in with fresh dough and even fresher dreams, stale Arthur can no longer pretend he doesn’t care. Written by Tracy Letts, of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning August: Osage County. This story really turns up the comedic heat on a man and a community grappling with change. A tough and tasty tale of friendship and redemption. Starring Chris Kayser and Directed by Jeff Adler.
