They're only Pants

Has anyone else seen this article? I'm all about consumer protection, however this is utterly ridiculous. This judge needs to be impeached from his bench and then disbarred for wasting the courts time. If anything, this is an issue for a small claims court at the most. There is know way his pants or any pants for that matter are worth that much. Hell, he probably bought them at Wal-Mart or JC Penny's. This has to rank right up there with the lady that split hot coffee on her and sued McD's for millions. I hate frivolous lawsuits such as these. I don't care who is right here the judge is obvious one of the biggest A-Holes.
Judge now wants just $54M from cleaner

By Lubna Takruri, Associated Press Writer | June 5, 2007

WASHINGTON --A customer who believes he was mistreated by a dry cleaner has dropped the pants from his suit. Roy L. Pearson, who filed a $67 million lawsuit against the dry cleaning business that lost his pants, has lowered his demand. Now, he's asking for only $54 million, according to a May 30 court filing in D.C. Superior Court.

The District of Columbia administrative law judge first sued Custom Cleaners over a pair of pants that went missing two years ago. He was seeking about $65 million under the D.C. consumer protection act and almost $2 million in common law claims.

He is now focusing his claims on signs in the shop that have since been removed. The suit alleges that the three defendants, Jin Nam Chung, Soo Chung and their son, Ki Chung, committed fraud and misled consumers with signs that claimed "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service."

This man is a judge? He should be kicked off the bench for his colossal lack of judgement.

Ew ew ew ew ew! I kindof want to punch them in the face. I'm not a big fan of big conglomerate organizations, yet to be sued for serving hot coffee or losing a pair of pants?! Psh. Dumb.
I mean, MILLIONS for a pair of pants? I could see a replacement pair being expected, but millions!?
