Monsters in the closet

Okay, today I was looking over the Diversity and Inclusion section on Monster.com which is their Gay and Lesbian section. I, Then did a search for employers in this section and what I don't understand is why the military specifically US Navy Reserve came up in the searches. Now if they had been Civilian personnel positions on the base, but these where for sailors.

The US Military is hardly an Equal Opportunity employer when it come to Gay and Lesbian personnel. More people have been kicked out of the service because of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" than in any other time. Prior to that policy the discharges had been minimal if you want more info Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) used to have the statistic.

The other issue was with advertising on these same pages. It was on a similar subject ; It was for the US Army. Now I doubt the government had the GLB&T as a target audience. I as a US Taxpayer I think the Army is wasting my money if it is. It just wouldn't make much sense now would it, allowing an openly LGB&T person to enlist, only to kick them out. The Military advertising on the GAY and LESBIAN pages for soldiers and sailors doesn't make any sense for Monster.com, the Dept. Of Defense, us as Taxpayers and for the GLB&T communinty.

WARNING: Visiting http://www.sldn.org you may find yourself on a Dept. Of Defense terrorist watch list.
